Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!
According to 13.1 item of the adopted Working Plan 2011 of OSJD Freight Commission, we inform you that 30-31 May 2011 Odessa (Ukraine) hosts OSJD International Conference on Rail Freight (hereinafter “Conference”). Organizers and hosting parties: State Administration of Ukrainian Rail Transport (Ukrainian Railways) and OSJD Associated Enterprise PLASKE JSC.
The Conference is focused on development and improvement of international rail freight within the Eurasian area.
Rail administrations of Eurasian continent have adopted and implemented the concept-based development directions aimed at better transport services, shorter transit times, harmonization of international procedures within several legislations, facilitation of border procedures, introduction of competitive tariff policy, etc.
To increase the quality of rail transport services OSJD elaborates and applies different solutions for international transport. The most successful ones are route contrailer trains, combined transport. Transport companies gained great experience in this field.
Taking into account the current reformation processes in rail industry witnessed in OSJD Member States; considering containerization of international trade; recognizing the creation of logistics centers OSJD Committee holds the Conference to share ideas and experience to enhance rail transport efficiency, improve transport services, cooperation between railways and freight forwarding companies and other aspects of transport industry.
The Conference envisages the following discussion points:
- Overall position of freight market; Legal aspects of international rail freight; Transport corridors; Interoperability.
- Tariff policy and marketing of freight flows; Competitiveness of rail freight; Container transport by rail and combined modes.
- Commercial and technological aspects of international freight; Infrastructure, ITs and management.
- Closer partnership between rail undertakings and container train operators, freight forwarding companies and national freight forwarding associations; freight forwarding companies-operators activities in transport arrangement, including container and contrailer transport, along transport routes/corridors in East-West and North-South directions.
Time limits for reports and presentations: 10-15 minutes.

- 01-03 June 2011 10th International Transport and Logistics Exhibition Inter-TRANSPORT
